Editorial policy
This page explains how the articles on 8dofwellness.com get made, where the facts come from, and what we do when we get something wrong. The short version: we stick to what the evidence actually supports, every article lists its sources, and if you spot a mistake we'll fix it.
What we write about
Everything here is organized around the 8 dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, financial and occupational. The articles are practical, plain-English guides for adults. They're general information, not personal medical, mental health, legal or financial advice.
Where our facts come from
We research every article before it's written, and we lean on the most reliable sources we can find:
- government health and science agencies, such as the CDC, the NIH and the FDA
- major medical and professional organizations
- peer-reviewed research, including systematic reviews where they exist
- reputable news reporting on new studies
Every article ends with a Sources list so you can check things for yourself. When a figure or claim can't be traced back to a solid source, we cut it or soften it rather than leave it in.
How we handle health claims
We try to describe the evidence honestly. If a study only shows that two things are linked, we say "linked to", not "causes". If the research is small, early or mixed, we say so. We don't publish miracle cures, detox promises or claims the evidence doesn't back up, and we've removed older posts that made them.
We also include safety notes where they matter, for example who should check with a doctor before trying something.
How articles are written
Articles are written in a friendly, first-person voice, as if one person were talking you through the topic. Opinions in an article ("I'd start with a ten-minute walk") are the site's own view. We never make up personal stories, people, quotes or statistics.
We use AI writing tools to help with research and drafting. Every article is then checked against its sources before it goes live, and the person who runs this site decides what gets published and is responsible for it.
Updates and corrections
Health advice changes as new research comes out, so we review and update articles over time. Each article shows the date it was last updated.
If you think something is wrong, out of date or unclear, please email info@8dofwellness.com with the page link. We check every report, and when we fix a factual error we update the article and its date.
Advertising and money
There are no ads on this site, and we don't publish sponsored articles or use affiliate links. We sell two things: our own merchandise in the shop, made and shipped by our print-on-demand partner, Fourthwall, and the guided anxiety journals written by the person who runs this site, which are sold on Amazon. Some articles mention a related shop product or journal, and that never changes what an article says about the evidence.
